May 8th 2008, new supper club Bistro Escondido will be hosting it's first meeting at a location in Pioneertown. Still working out the menu details but we do expect this to be a very welcome alternative to the slim pickins available up here.
We will be hosting one Saturday dinner, one mid-week dinner and one Sunday brunch per month. Satuday dinners will be more formal, starting with cocktail and snack hour at 6pm then appetizers served at 7:30, plated dinner and then desert. Mid-week dinners will be less formal, family style affairs that cater mainly to local tastes. I do cook fish but won't be serving meat unless we have a guest chef who wants to come and cook meat that they can procure from a local ranch.
Brunch will feature ranch fresh eggs from my own chickens and may be the only time we serve meat in the form of homemade sausage. Brunch will be served with a Bloody Mary or a Mimosa. Naturally, we will be striving to serve only the freshest local ingredients and most sustainably harvested fish.
Contact us if you have friends here or are planning to visit. We are very excited and will get some kind of blog page up soon. Please let me know if you have any helpful ideas to get this running smoothly.
