
July 19, Canvas Undergrounders and Andrew Lane Wine club members were treated to a delightful wine pairing dinner featuring ALS's award winning 2006 Gamay Noir. Periscope Cellars, once a submarine warehouse, set the stage for 44 guests. Next door, the Canvas crew worked in the Top Chef season 1 kitchen!
Fred Boette entertained with Spanish guitar as guests mingled.

The highlight of the evening was a Quick Fire Challenge - guests were blindfolded and had to guess the herbal seasonings of 5 individual homemade potato chips. Only 3 people were able to guess 3/5 seasonings which included: Black Sea Salt, fresh chopped rosemary, sesame seed oil, herbs de provence and fresh chopped oregano.
The menu included:

House smoked duck prosciutto over frisee and marinated cherries

Piquillo pepper and Early Girl tomato soup with licorice oil

Pepper crusted flank steak with black currant gastrique and warm potato-mushroom salad

White corn panna cotta over fresh berries and saffron broth'
