well, it all worked out. Gigs with stairs are always a little intimidating. Buckets of plates, tables, my whole body, going up and down those stairs, and the rain....

but damn that soup was good. and the fish, and the cheese and everything.

thanks for a really fun night.
I hope you got a chance to meet some cool folks.

especially our performers, bret mosley and matthew nichols, and host will. it takes a village.

hope everyone made it home safe.
just last night, we got folks from jersey, washington heights and astoria ready to host.
i think i need a car of my own....

Hello Everyone,

My name is David Haskell - I am a chef (by trade) and a producer of an original web-series called Waiting on Others ( This web-series is a labor of love for the creative team and should be of great interest to this community. The story revolved around two NYC actresses who work in a restaurant while going on auditions. Anyone who has ever worked food service will recognize the crazy customers, creepy managers and other kinds of characters.

I'd like to invite you all to check out our website and our Facebook page ( We debut in January and I am planning a launch party.

I am wondering if there is any interest from this community in helping make the launch party happen - if you're a cater or chef, brewmaster or vintner and you would like to support independent artists, let me know.

Check out the Events page!

OK, it's time for me to organize the 4th outing.

This one will have two parts.

First a glass of wine or two + some cheese at Casellula Cheese & Wine Cafe on West 52nd St off 9th Ave. I say go there first because it will be less busy then later on.

Then a nice short walk over to Gazala Place on 9th Ave and 48th-49th St. For good Authentic Mediterranean Food. They are BYOB and cash only I think? Gazala may hold a table for us but it's VERY small place and there might be a wait. But we will be holding wine and I'm sure we can get a glass.

Please RSVP and let's all have fun, share food, make new friends.

Dear Very Important People,

Once upon a time, in a land far far uptown, out of the doldrums, desires, humbuggeries and hungers for that grand recognition of the common human experience, came Rentaurant, your favorite, if intermittent, professional eatery and dining experience.

What a long strange trip it’s been.

End hiatus.

We’re back in action and ready to bring you Rentaurant: Tajin.

Sunday June 14th.
6-10 PM
$10 Dinner (suggested donation)
Cheep drinks.

We made rent so all proceeds are to benefit Urban Word and it’s community of extraordinary human beings. See

Please RSVP to

In solidarity and chefdom,

Rentaurant Crew

Greetings All,

OK, it seems Ramen at Ippudo wins the vote for our outing this Sunday @7pm.

Please let me know by Thursday if you plan on making it. They do not book tables so it can be 30-45min wait. But that gives us time to chat and drink!

It's all about finding great food and teasting...

I know it's a little different but I'd like to maybe get a group together to try different restaurants. It's all about great food and tasting. Meeting different people with a real interest in food. I'd also like to add that if we can get hooked up with Chiefs that are opening a place or changing the menu and need foodies to try the menu (soft opening) that would be fun. Or we just meet for a drink talk about food, places we like. Could be a little hole in the wall or a nicer place. What do you think?

Hey LES! Come check us out. We are Rentaurant, your uptown paladar....where great commentary meets great tastes in the wilds of Washington Heights. Events every first Sunday of every month starting October 5th. Reserve a seat (or several) at or through Ghetto Gourmet. $10 a plate. $2 cocktails. But of course, the experience is priceless. Directions provided when you reserve.

5. Poller Guerilla Cooking in Cologne at Köln-Poll

June 19, 2014 all day
Soll heißen: Wir kochen und unsere Gäste bezahlen einen vorher festgelegten…See More
