I wouldn't be able to host unless we only want to shoot for 8-10 people, but I'm definitely willing to prepare a course or two! As for menu, let's start with seasonal as a base?

I actually won't be able to make it this Friday - I'll be getting back from a business trip that night, landing at LAX around 11 PM. So, I would be in favor of rescheduling or just scheduling another dinner for some time soon...

Dinner party - Umami Tsunami 10/11/09
1. Shitake popcorn
2. Lightly poached egg yolk shot with soy / sake / mirin / rice vinegar / sesame oil / seasame seeds / wasabe
3. Sesame seared maguro with wasabi / ginger aioli and ponzu
4. Bourbon ginger 'teriyaki' braised chuck steak
5. Mushroom nabe soup with enoki, shitake, and king oyster mushrooms
6. Tuna roll, yellowtail roll, unagi nigiri with assorted roes
7. Green tea ice cream with saki / mirin / yuzu juice infused plums and yuzu whipped cream
8. Shiso ginger yuzu sake mojitos
