About Me:: Chef Deanna recently held a series of classes on food preparation and sustainability in Manhattan for several groups of visiting students from the prestigious University of Gastronomy in Bra, Italy, a school founded by Carlo Petrini who was, in turn, the founder of the Slow Food movement. At each of the dinners she prepared for these events, the students and teachers, who had all just finished a tour of New York City’s finest restaurants, unanimously said that out of all of it, Chef Deanna’s cuisine was the best food they had yet tasted!

A native of the Catskill Mountains, an unusually gifted and creative culinary artist by any standard, Chef Deanna works passionately and tirelessly in the cause of promoting local food, sharing insights gained from years of intensive research and investigation, discussing, exploring and teaching the local, global, economic, ecological and nutritional effects of our everyday food choices.

Woodstock's Hidden Kitchen Pantry

Yeah! I am so excited. Today I met with Marissa Trevail Bieber from Owl's Ridge Farm in Catskill. She is wonderful, she just got married and her and her husband have 110 acres at the beginning of the finger lakes, an old dairy farm. She was raised in Catskill on Owl's Ridge Farm,High Falls Road and went to college for animal sciences she always wanted to be a farmer.
