I am:
a host, a producer
I live in:
an urban farm in Santa Cruz, CA
About Me:
We bought the last yard in downtown Santa Cruz that hasn't been converted to multi-plexes. I had a vision of growing an organic fruit and vegetable garden, then smacking a table down the center and transforming the produce into something magnificant. We've had one "dinner in the vegetable patch" and it was a great success. We'd love to pay for the land with more dinner parties. Everyone told me it was a fairy tale that we could buy expensive California real estate and pay for it with vegetables. So I named it Fairy-Tale Farm!

Broody chickens - sympathy or soup?

So we've got a couple of broody chickens here at Fairy-Tale Farm. Since we're not allowed roosters in the city, nothing's going to come of the eggs these poor hens are sitting on. We're having a country theme for our next underground restaurant (Friday, June 19th; see www.fairy-talefarm.com for more details) and fried chicken sure sounds tasty! Except this menu is for our vegetarian friends, so we'll have to save Honeydrop and Chiquita Bonita for another night. We've tried taking them off their… Continue

Fairy-Tale Farm is an urban homestead where we tranform our humble fruits and vegetables to new culinary heights. A la "dinner in the field", we try to use as much of the produce growing around the table in… Continue
