Lake Merritt area - Saturday Farmers Market !!! Also hit up Lakeshore Blvd (walking distance) and go to Arezmedi Bakery (great pizza, cookies, etc.).
Washington Street downtown Oakland - get yo club on down here !!!
Wing Stop (near Wal Mart and Oakland Airport, slammin wings & fries :)
Jack London Square area - restaurants, walking, etc. Everett & Jones has pretty good ribs, check out Yoshi's for jazz and sushi and catch a movie if you like.
San Francisco
Union Square (catch BART to Powell Street Station - can catch Cable Car here also and ride to Pier 39 area !!!), Haight Street, Valencia Street, Hayes Street, Noe Street - for the shopaholics !
Castro District - gay capital of the world but some cool spots.
Amoeba Records (Haight Street and Telegraph Ave in Berkeley) - too much music, dvds, everything !!!
Lombard Street - world's only crooked street
North Beach area - Italian food galoure !!
Chinatown - you will think you are in China #@@$
Embarcadero area - be prepared to walk. Check out Pier 36 for tourist grub, shopping, etc.. Justin Herman Plaza has many street artists...
Hit up Giradelli Square for some chocolates.
Oh Yeah - check out Shalimar on Jones Street for some screamin Indian & Pakistani food..... It's in the Tenderloin district so hold on to your wig :) Also check out Farmer Brown's in the Tenderloin for some good down home soul food.
