vegan chef, shakuhachi player and teacher. I have cooked for the ghet a few times and for 5 years have run my own monthly dinner/concert series in oakland featuring gourmet vegetarian cuisine and world renowned musicians. Everything handmade including our own tofu, tempeh, seitan, noodles of all sorts, amazake, coconut milk, soymilk and lots more

Vegetarian dinner, oakland, june 27

The musicians cancelled on us but we are going ahead with a food only evening, this Saturday, June 27 at 8 pm. Location will be a loft in West Oakland and we can take up to 20 reservations and half are already filled. Discounted price of a sliding scale of 30-40 dollars. byob

a cold refreshing cucumber avocado soup



second course

first event of the year



another tea pairing with chadoen.com, importers of very high end teas from Taiwan, Japan and China.



menu will include tea dumplings (homemade pot sticker dough with matcha in it and oolong smoked matsutake mushrooms for the filling),

a tea soup



tea marinated seitan



a three way oolong dessert of an apple oolong muffin, oolong infused vanilla ice cream and oolong sauce.

You food looks nice. I am not a vegan chef but I enjoy the challenge of cooking vegan. I truly believe that it takes a skilled mind to cook this way.
