Dang. I just got this message. Sorry. I might be able to do breakfast another day this week or maybe we should grab a glass of wine at Cheuvront's. It was really awful watching what the majority in the Senate did to him and Paula Aboud and Kyrsten and everyone on the gay marriage bill on Friday. It was truly mean-spirited, unjust, and immoral.
My favorite food surprise of the week: the tiny cucumbers at the Phoenix Downtown market. I picked a couple up last Wednesday afternoon. Everyone was wilting, but the food was fresh, crisp, and still inviting, in spite of the oppressive heat! I finally dug into the cucumbers last night and I wish I'd bought more. They were perfect. They tasted just the right shade of green, had exactly the right moisture content, and were crisp to the bite. They remind me how much I love summer foods fresh off the vine.
