news from rogueApron, Atlanta's underground supperclub

Hi all - What with the flurry of folks interested in rogueApron via the NYTimes article this morning, I thought it was high time to post a recap of the last few months.

crowd

rogueApron has been growing like crazy! Our first event was a small gathering of 30-some folks, about half of whom were strangers from the mailing list. We were so excited to have *fifteen* people we didn't know joining us for dinner - our homemade corned beef, vegan colcannon, Irish vegges, Guinness pudding, and some delicious homebrewed East Atlanta Brewery Irish Red. Fast forward a mere five months later, and our mailing list has grown to nearly *six hundred folks* - thanks in large part to word of mouth through bloggers and a very sweet writeup in Daily Candy.

Our last event was our biggest yet - Mama Mediterranean - a three course affair in a gorgeous Reynoldstown backyard, with wooden benches for 50 people. Our homebrew friends had an entire bar set up, with three delicious brews on tap - Obama's Best Bitter, Dave's Pale Ale, and a secretly available Chai Brown (my personal favorite). We served a variety of courses from the region - Turkish Adana Kebabs (lamb) with sheep's milk feta and onion salad and a spiced goat yogurt; a homemade falafel, a greek vegetarian moussaka with a thick bechamel sauce (with of course a vegan version), and rounds and rounds of fresh hand-tossed pizza.

Rogue Apron - 7/30/08

Mama Mediterranean sold out in less than two hours, which has us very excited for future rogueApron events. (Not to get all Sally Field, but you like us! You really like us!). We've got our fifth event coming up soon - reservations available via our mailing list shortly, so if you'd like to come out and meet some really awesome people, we'd love to meet you too!

Thanks again to everyone sending us notes of encouragement - it's too exciting for words sometimes :)

Love,

Lady Rogue

The chance to pick your brain would be unprecedented! We have so many challenges; managing reservations, menus, food costs and trying to stay true to our spirit while growing and including new people. Please do let me know if you are in town; beers would be on us!

Hey Rogue -
Thanks so much for the update. It looks really amazing. I might be in Atlanta around the 3rd week of September. Maybe we could meet up. Congrats!
