Living in NYC and being a Foodie - one has to find the best that one can and then share with others (or at least I've taken that part on as a personal mission).
This blog is a compilation of the best places I've found in NYC so far. From the best NY slice to the most delicious fusion cuisine this blog will cover it all. Go and try some of the places I've found and let me know what you think. Hopefully you will be as delighted as I was to find them.
Artichoke Pizza

328 East 14th Street
New York, NY 10003

Ok this place is already known to New Yorkers but it was new to me. The Artichoke slice at this place is so good they had to name the whole restaurant after it. I didn't think there was anything better than the classic magarita slice here in the city, but I was wrong.
Hot, delicious, gooey, not too greasy (for pizza that is), and an amazing price for the slice you get (imagine Hulk Hogan's bicep and then apply size to slice of pizza).
I went at around 1am and the line was out the door. Totally worth the wait.
Oh and it gets better. A few days ago they opened a bakery right next door where you can have a Fried Oreo, Funnel cake, a regular or two way Cannoli (two way has chocolate on one end and almond slices on the other) and a great cup a joe.
I personally went for the Fried Oreo since it has been on my list of must try items for a while. Hot, delicious, and made with funnel cake batter so you get that "kid at the carnival" feeling when you bite into the puffed pocket of goodness.
Go, eat and enjoy!
Hanami
525 Avenue of Americas
212-255-9981
It isn't often that you find inventive sushi that you can actually afford. The Kampyo roll (dried gourd) and the Umeika roll (plum sauce mint leaves and squid) at Hanami are two exceptions. The dried gourd was delightfully salty and somewhat sweet while the subtle flavors of the Umeika roll was so refreshing one would not want to add soy sauce or wasabi - pefection all on its own. My date tried the Xmas
roll (tuna avacado and crispy tempura batter) and the Oshitashi rool (spinach, kampyo,
shitake, and avacado). Both were satisfying and interesting in their own right, though I must say I enjoyed my two selections more.
Technically speaking the sushi was moist and flavorful and perfectly sized (even the larger maki was still of edible proportion).
The wait staff is nice and the restaurant clean and basic. The real treat here is not the ambiance, but as it should be - the food.
I am hopeful that the menu will change periodically to include more interesting adventurous sushi options. In any event it was good enough for me to go back and try their fare again.

Nine D Thai Cuisine
462 Court Street
Brooklyn, NY 11231-4033
(718) 488-9799
When one finds a great lunch special that is not only affordable but also delicious (not to mention very beautiful), one wants to shout from the nearest highrise "Eat at this lovely place!!!!" Ok so maybe that is just me, but I felt inspired to at least mention it on my blog :)
Nine D is such a spot - the food is delicious and such a steal with a lunch special costing only $7.
Here is a pic of the beautiful (and extremely spicey chicken curry) I had the other day.
Hope you all enjoy this place as much as I did!
